Zhou's Chinese Restaurant sits quietly on Como Lake Ave, serving up straightforward, comforting Chinese dishes with a strong family-run vibe. This spot caters well to those who appreciate honest, homestyle cooking without fuss. It’s the kind of place where you can drop in for a solo dinner or gather the family for a casual meal that hits familiar notes.

The interior feels unpretentious and practical, typical of local neighbourhood Chinese restaurants, offering a relaxed atmosphere where staff recognize many regulars by name. It’s not a place for fine dining but more a setting where good food and friendly service come first.

Menu highlights such as their Garlic Broccoli, Chicken Chow Mein, and mushroom fried rice reflect solid takeout or dine-in choices when you want well-balanced flavors rather than overly sauced or decorative plates. The presence of dishes like Szechuan Chicken Fried Noodles and Black Pepper Beef Fried Noodles provides some gentle spice options for those who like a bit of heat. Crispy spring rolls and rich cashew chicken fried rice also stand out as approachable favorites.

If you’re someone who appreciates steady consistency—a meal that doesn’t surprise but satisfies—and enjoys supporting local family businesses, Zhou’s fits the bill. It’s especially good for lunch or early dinner, when the kitchen can crank out dishes promptly, making it a smart stop for a quick bite on the way home or during a casual outing in Coquitlam.

The overall experience is enhanced by staff who are personable without being intrusive, creating a welcoming but efficient rhythm, perfect for regular customers and newcomers alike. With prices and portions that tend to balance well, it’s a practical choice for anyone craving straightforward Chinese food in a comfortable, no-frills environment.

I have been eating at Zhou’s for many years and am always happy to drive a few extra kilometres to get the tastiest and freshest Chinese food in the Tri Cities. John and Anthony are terrific brothers who always make me feel great with good humour and great food.

This little family restaurants reminds me of the one my grandparents had. Their sweet and sour pork brings back so many memories. It's the kind of cooking that reminds you why these dishes became classics in the first place. My favs include the wonton soup and the squid with spicy salt. Support local!!!

Order the honey chicken ball and small rice. Always great! Not to saucy and over drenched in sauce, just the right amount. Front desk guy always friendly, remembers my order. 10/10 experience, good price, fast service.

A favourite of our entire family! The combo options and food is absolutely delicious. 0 complaints at all but I do wish they offered delivery on uber eats and not only skip the dishes!

The service is good and the food is delicious. The price/quality/quantity ratio is excellent. It's my first time trying this restaurant, and as a fan of Chinese food, it's delicious!!!

What a nice place! I didn’t dine in but the service was still great. The takeout food tasted very good and the place looked modern!

Nice service and good staff but they should have also vegan options which they need to roast in different pan for vegans! Other than all is good. Aha one more thing! Safety!!! Safety safety!!!!! Hope they will take care of kids/baby seats. We used baby seat for our toddler as you can see in the picture. They didn’t provide any straps and seat was not attached to anything. Unfortunately we had a small accident. They need to be very careful on that!! my son had serious problem after falling down! And they are responsible with not providing safety seats!!! Summary, guys are nice but they should be so cautious!

Still our go to best Chinese food spot, even now that we’ve moved to PoCo. Delicious food, lots of bang for your buck & friendly staff! We’ve been ordering for years and still my number one choice! Wish they’d deliver to PoCo but honestly, it’s worth the drive for pick up!
